The name of your latest project is Amadeus Machine? How did you come up with this name?
Amadeus refers to the genius Wolgang Amadeus Mozart who was not afraid of defying established authorities and who reinvented his own field. He had this Punk attitude at the same level as Galileo Galilei when he confronts the geocentric theory in his quest to disprove Earth being the center of the universe as perpetuated by the Church. The Machine is a symbol of our time; an era of quick evolution, diversification, specialization and automation seeking “true perfection”. So in a sense, Amadeus Machine is that futuristic creature, a kind of homo-hybridus who is able to auto-redefine his life on his own and in every second in order to find the Truth.
What is your role at Ubisoft?
After obtaining a Master’s degree in game design, I was first hired as a game designer, but I gradually turned into a camera specialist since I have strong roots in cinematography. After 5 years in production at the Peck building, I’ve joined Alice Mocap Studio (Assassin’s Creed III, Far Cry 3 & Watch Dogs) as a camera artist to operate the virtual camera service. I’m now available for projects with different needs such as creation of a first pass camera for their cinematic, 3D camera polish and VCAM operation.
